Am I getting a great deal?
Send us your preferred dates, and we’ll gladly assist you in finding the best deal available.
In case your exact dates are not available, if there’s a chance to save on costs with a better alternative, or more options when travelling in the opposite direction, don’t worry; we’ll offer you the best option at a lower price.
We know email might take a bit longer than an automated system, but we’ll provide a response within 24 hours, and we assure you, it’s worth the wait!
Our pricing is straightforward and transparent, and the daily rental rate includes everything you need for a comfortable trip, such as unlimited kilometres, comprehensive insurance, airport transfers, linen, cutlery, crockery, kitchen equipment, and more.
If you require more assurance, we offer options to reduce your liability should there be any damage.
Insurance
Our Basic Insurance has got you covered! You don’t have to worry about a thing if you accidentally damage the vehicle or if the vehicle causes damage to someone else’s property. Just remember to be careful while driving and avoid any negligent behaviour. If you are keen to learn more about our insurance exclusions, have a look at our terms and conditions.
But here’s the good news: you’ll be covered for overhead and under body damage, which is the most common type of accident. Plus, you’re also covered for single vehicle accidents, towing, recovery, theft, fire, and vandalism – just about everything.
So, sit back, relax, and enjoy your journey without any stress.

We understand that the majority of our Bay of Islands Campervan customers are skilled drivers.
While we definitely admire your abilities, it’s important to recognize that driving a campervan or motorhome in a foreign country involves more risks than you might usually encounter back home; particularly when adjusting to driving on the left-hand side of the road in New Zealand.
No worries, though! We’ve got your back. To ensure that you feel comfortable and at ease during your trip, we highly recommend lowering your excess. This will give you peace of mind and let you focus on experiencing all the beauty that New Zealand’s roads have to offer.
Our Value Pack, available from 15 days rental, is designed to make your road trip experience worry-free. Check out some awesome testimonials on our blog, and let us know if you have any questions or concerns!
Bond payment
We’ll require a bond equal to the excess when you come to collect your vehicle. This is simply a precautionary measure to ensure that we’re covered in the event of any damage or accidents that may occur during your journey if the conditions of hire are not met.
But, if you do choose the Value Pack insurance, there’s no bond required, and we’ll only need your credit card information to keep on file in case we receive any infringement notices.
Please note: after your holiday, the deposit will be returned in NZD. Any exchange rate differences (positive or negative) and bank charges will be for your account.
We highly recommend arranging travel insurance as you plan for your trip. This is the best way to ensure that you’re protected in case of illness, travel cancellations, lost or stolen items, personal liability, and any other unexpected events that may arise.
Road User Charges (RUC)
Anyone using New Zealand’s roads contributes towards their upkeep. Most road users pay levies when they buy fuel. Others, such as drivers of diesel vehicles, pay through road user charges (RUC).
If you’re planning to travel short distances, you would rather not pay the same as someone who is going to clock up big miles in their campervan. So, we’ve taken the government tax on diesel vehicles (Road User Charges) out of our standard rates. Since our Road User Charges are based on actual kilometres travelled in your campervan, you only pay for what you use.
Road User Charges are payable at the end of your hire, unless you have opted for the Value Pack Insurance. In that case, the fee is included. We will charge at the same rate* as the government charges us:
- Currently, $8.40 per 100k
*Subject to actual pricing set by the NZ government
When you choose the Value Pack, Road User Charges, are included. Just as zero excess on windscreens and tyres, Internet data and other benefits!
Internet Charges (WiFi)
Are you looking for a hassle-free way to stay connected to the internet while travelling? Well, look no further – we’ve got you covered! All of our motorhomes come with on-board WIFI, so you never have to miss out on those important emails or social media updates.
In case you’re wondering, you can even connect your WIFI-enabled devices, just like you do at home. Plus, if you’re worried about coverage in remote areas, don’t be! Even though coverage can be patchy in some parts of New Zealand, we offer unlimited* internet at an affordable cost of $10 per day.
But, let’s not forget about the beauty of nature all around us. In those areas where there’s no WIFI, take this time to truly disconnect, enjoy the scenery, and maybe even spot some unique bird species!
The great news is, if you choose our Value Pack option, you’ll get internet data (WiFi) included, along with other awesome benefits like zero excess on windscreens and tyres, Road User Charges, and more.
